Monday, June 9
MARANDA’S PICK: Kick Off the 2014 Summer Reading Club
Local libraries across west and southwest Michigan are kicking off their summer reading programs. It’s totally free for kids and you’re welcome to attend any day and kids have a chance to win great prizes!

Tuesday, June 10
MARANDA’S PICK: Toddler Tuesday – Grand Rapids Children’s Museum (Grand Rapids)
Make a bird feeder for our feathery friends at 10 a.m.

McCay Cartooning Workshop – Spring Lake Public Library (Spring Lake)
Let your kids join the fun surrounding Winsor McCay Day. The limit is 70 children so get there early. The workshop for children ages 3-10 will take place at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 9+ at 2 p.m.

Wednesday, June 11
MARANDA’S PICK: Spring Lake Heritage Festival Family Fun Night (Spring Lake)
There are tons of games and activities for the younger set, and the food is provided at minimal cost by the Lions Club at the “Community Picnic.” There will be blow-up games, a dunk tank, and activities for children of all ages. Ollie the Owl from Lake Trust Credit Union will join the fun. Bring your kids, your parents, your grandparents, and anyone else who is looking for a great time. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Kik Pool at Mayor’s Riverfront Park (Kalamazoo)
The Kik Pool in Kalamazoo officially opens for the season! Adults 18 and over pay $6 for a day pass, teens and kids 17 and under just $3.  Open swim is Monday – Saturday, 1:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Imagination Lab: Messy Play for Growing Minds (Grand Rapids)
Join us every Wednesday and Friday between 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the IMAGINATION LABORATORY for some messy exploration! Create slime, finger-paint with shaving cream, explore mud, and watch what happens when you mix corn-flour and water… and so much more! Each Lab day will provide a new experience! Imagination Laboratory is included with general admission.

Thursday, June 12
MARANDA’S PICK: Muskegon Museum of Art (Muskegon)
Thursdays are free days at the Muskegon Museum of Art!  Drop in for a free tour and special fun for kids between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Antique Farm Power Club Show (Fruitport)
Join fellow tractor and engine enthusiasts June 12 – 14 at the Muskegon County Fairgrounds for this fun family event occurring all day. Admission is $5. Kids 12 and under are free. Visit their website for specific starting times.

Friday, June 13        
MARANDA’S PICK: Pool Openings! (Grand Rapids)
Three city pools in Grand Rapids open for the season today!  Families can swim at Briggs Park, Martin Luther King Park and Richmond Park.

Glow Bowling (Holland)
Watch bowling lanes turn into a high-tech night club featuring: Gigantic Video Screen with your favorite bands playing music, black lights, fog, laser lights and disco balls.

FREE Outdoor Movie: The Wizard of Oz (Rockford)
View the Wizard of Oz under the stars at 8:30 p.m. in Richardson Sowerby Park, just under the bridge off of White Pine Trail, bring beach blankets and chairs for a night out with family!
