GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) It’s a great weekend to gather the kids and head outdoors for some family fun! Here are the top five picks for great activities this weekend in the Maranda and Star 105.7 Five Star Family Fun Update!

Allendale Community Field Day, Allendale Public Schools K-8 Campus
Saturday, May 31, 9 a.m. – noon
Theme is “Things That Swim.” Duck race, minnow trap construction, walking nature tour, tree planting and garden improvements.

Spring Lake Wooden Boat Show, Mill Point Park
Saturday, May 31, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
More than 30 vessels, a boat building activity table for kids, live entertainment, and boat parade following a 3 p.m. awards ceremony.

Family Fun Day: Fun in the Kitchen Garden, Holland Museum
Saturday, May 31, 10 a.m. – noon
See how early Holland residents grew their food. Event at the Settlers House at 190 W. 9th Street. Each child will leave with their own planted garden seed. Free!

Family Trail Ride, Hofma Preserve, Grand Haven
Saturday, May 31, Noon – 2 p.m.
Bring your bikes and ride the trails of Hofma Preserve. Learn bike safety, have your bike inspected, and enjoy some snacks. Free!

Walk with Maranda, Fifth Third Ball Park
Wednesday, June 4, 5 p.m.
Join Maranda and Priority Health Champions to walk Fifth Third Ball Park! A $5 fee gets you the walk, a t-shirt, a ticket to the game, and fireworks!  Registration is at 4:30, the walk is at 5, and game time is at 7 p.m.
