GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) A statewide program is encouraging teachers, students, and parents to live healthier lives. Deborah from Action for Healthy Kids has some tips for your family to get healthy.
- Be a role model for your kids when it comes to healthy eating.
- Introduce healthy foods early, like fresh fruits and vegetables, low fat and non-fat dairy and whole grains, so kids develop healthy behaviors over time.
- Limit screen time for kids to two hours a day.
- Allow the one bite taste. It lets kids try a new food, even if they don’t like it at first.
