GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Being a big brother or a big sister is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences. The relationship between the mentors and the mentees can help shape a child’s future and create a friendship that will last a lifetime.
One of those examples is Val Jones and his big brother, Charles. They were matched through Big Brothers Big Sisters when Val was just nine years old. His mother enrolled him in the program so he could have a positive male influence. He met Charles and became part of their family over the years. Charles’s father was also a Big Brother, and Charles’s son says he will likely keep up the tradition.
