Making wishes come true for children in West Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) A captivating evening of wish-granting returned to West Michigan during the 2014 Wish Ball at the DeVos place on May 8, 2014. Make-A-Wish Michigan® hosted the 2014 Wish Ball in Grand Rapids to help grant wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The formal event celebrates wish-granting with special guests and magical moments.

The event went to celebrate Make-A-Wish’s 30th birthday. Make-A-Wish has granted more than 7,500 wishes since the beginning, and they’re hoping to grant more than 400 wishes in 2014. That’s more than one wish per day. Currently there are more than 450 medically eligible children in Michigan who are waiting and anticipating their wish. For the organization to make this many wishes come true, they will need more than 500 wish-granting volunteers to step up for the cause.
