Free party promotes fitness, fun with baby

It’s the fifth annual FIT4MOM Grand Rapids birthday party and you’re invited!   This great organization is all about providing a fun way to get fit with your little one.   Join moms and kids at Manhattan Park in East Grand Rapids on Tuesday May 13th at 9:30am.  You’ll get a great goody bag when you arrive and then get ready to workout and have fun doing it.   This routine will get you moving while keep your little one in their stroller.  You get to sing songs and play with baby while you work up a sweat.  Following the workout there are prizes, refreshments and all sorts of activities.

Schedule of events
9:30am – Check in and pick up goody bags
10:00am – Stroller Strides class – Come wearing your workout gear and bring a stroller you can easily maneuver (doesn’t have to be a jogging stroller). Get ready to work out and have fun doing it!
11:00am – Door prize drawings, refreshments, and activities – There are lots of ways to earn more door prize drawing tickets. You get 1 just for coming to the event and 2 more just for registering. Check out all the door prizes we will be giving away! In addition to door prizes, Gymboree is coming with a parachute, Stephanie Kammeraad is going to be doing storytime, Mr. Aaron from Dilly Songs will be playing music and there will be a bubble station. We will also be having sidewalk chalk and coloring. And of course there is always the playground!

Event Details

When you arrive at the park, make sure to park at the west entrance, which is off of Manhattan Dr. This road is off of Cascade, three streets west of the East Beltline. We will be starting out at the covered pavilion. You can check out this map for further details.

All you need to bring for the event is your child(ren) in your stroller, toys and snacks for them during class, a water bottle, a diaper bag if needed, and a mat or towel for core work on the ground. Your stroller does not need to be a jogging stroller, just one that does not tip easily. Stroller Strides is for any children 6 weeks of age and older.

Make sure to wear comfortable clothes for exercising in. You may want to dress both yourself and your child in layers as it warms up for the afternoon.

Your child(ren) must stay in the stroller at all times during the class – we wouldn’t want them to get hurt while we are exercising! The group will do lots of fun songs and games to keep them entertained. And there will be plenty of activities for them afterward as a reward for sitting still!

Stroller Strides is designed to be a flexible class for moms with their children so if your child gets fussy, there is no problem if you need to step away from the group for a while and join up  later.
