Have you ever wanted to help build a playground for the community where you live? Now is your chance. KaBoom will be hosting a KaBoom Playground Build at Ellington Academy Playground, located at 600 Burton Avenue SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507. The build will take place on Friday, June 13, 2014.

What is KaBOOM?

KaBOOM! is a national non-profit dedicated to saving play for America’s children.Their mission is to create great playspaces through the participation and leadership of communities. Ultimately, KaBOOM would like to see a place to play within walking distance of every child in America.

KaBOOM! has raised more than $200 million, rallied a million volunteers, led the hands-on construction of over 2,000 playgrounds, and inspired a movement for the child’s right to play.

To volunteer at the KaBOOM Playground build at Ellington Academy, volunteers must be 18 and older. Volunteers who are legal working age (14-17) will need their parents to sign a permission form. Volunteers can register with Becky Missad by emailing their name, email and phone number.
