GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) The Salvation Army is making it possible for children in West Michigan to have their own musical instruments. From now until the end of April, it is asking the community to support children with the gift of music by donating their used musical instruments and guitars.
The goal of the Instrument Donation Drive is to put musical instruments into the hands of children in West Michigan and Northern Indiana who would not normally not have the an opportunity to experience of making music.
The Salvation Army is committed to giving children the opportunity to succeed through the experience of creating and playing music. When a child learns to play a musical instrument, it creates a sense of achievement, promotes social skills and teaches patience and perseverance – all valuable life skills.
Drop off instruments at The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center at 2500 Division Avenue South in Grand Rapids or call Chuck Warfel at (616) 459-3433 ext. 1154 to arrange for a pick-up.
