Fundraiser in memory of Grandville teen

GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOTV) A fundraiser is planned to raise money for a scholarship in Ryan Fischer’s name.

The Ryan Fischer Legacy Scholarship fund is in honor of the 17-year-old who died in his sleep in March. The cause of death was complications due to an enlarged heart. Fischer was a student at Grandville High School, and was captain of the hockey and football teams, as well as a member of the National Honor Society. He had been accepted into the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

An event to raise money for the scholarship is planned for Friday, April 18, at Celebration! Cinema at Rivertown Mall in Grandville. A $20 donation will get you a ticket to see “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” popcorn, and a pop. The movie is at 7 p.m. and tickets are on sale now! You can get one by clicking here.
