GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Get ready for some down and dirty, messy fun with the kids. Take advantage of the sloppy spring weather and learn how to make mud paint! This recipe comes to us courtesy of Learn Play Imagine:
- Food coloring (can also use powdered tempera)
- Dish soap (optional)
- Heavy cardstock
- Paint brushes
Separate scoops of mud into containers. Add food coloring, a small amount of water, and a squirt of dish soap (dish soap is optional. It helps the mud paint spread easier and helps it to not stain clothing). Mix up each batch of mud paint until you get your desired color.
Be sure to use thick cardstock, poster board, or cardboard, as paper can rip from the moisture in the paint. Keep spoons and water nearby in case the paint settles and becomes too thick.
