Staying safe in severe weather

Tornado safety

  • Get in a safe place immediately
  • A basement or interior room is best
  • Get under stairs or sturdy furniture and cover your head 

Lightning safety

  • Lightning can strike miles ahead of a storm
  • Lightning usually seeks the tallest object around
