GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Part of the mission of the Fifth Third River Bank Run is to encourage and inspire others to get active and healthy. One group inspired by the event is some parents and students from Byron Center Christian School, who formed a running club.
The running club meets two days a week, and boys and girls have different training days. The students say they love it because it’s fun and good exercise. Some parents participate alongside their children, too. They say it’s a great way to encourage fitness and help support the children both emotionally and spiritually.
Right now, the children are training to run three miles in time for the Fifth Third River Bank Run Junior events on May 10.
