All girls should get to go to Prom, whether or not girls have the means to purchase a dress. One woman is helping to make girls feel like Cinderella for Prom Nights across West Michigan. Cinderella Project of Kalamazoo is providing formal wear dresses to make prom and other occasions affordable. From free dresses to designer gowns, girls will have the opportunity to feel like a princess on Prom Day, no matter their budget. Adrienne Wissner is the founder of the Cinderella Project of Kalamazoo, and takes in previously loved prom dresses and accessories to help girls on a budget find their dream dress. Wissner is helping girls feel like a Princess on Prom Day no matter what their budget may be.
The prom dresses will be given out during an event Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Girls Scout Heart of Michigan Program and Training Center located, 601 W. Maple St., in Kalamazoo. Hundreds of dresses will be available for this year’s Prom, with a wide range of sizes from 1 through 32. Last year, 160 free prom dresses were given to girls from more 30 different high school in the Kalamazoo area. If you have a gown that can be donated, dresses can be dropped off at Memories Bridal & Evening Wear, 203 E. Michigan Ave., in Kalamazoo.
