GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Getting kids in the kitchen and comfortable cooking is a great step to teaching them about making healthy food choices. There are some amazing cooking class options for kids in Grand Rapids, including at the Downtown Market. They offer classes and events for children and teens. One event company up is April “Foods” Day on April 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The session is open to teens. Camps for kids and teens during Spring Break and over the summer
- Flavors of the World Spring Break Camps – April 8-10: Camps for kids (6-11) and teens (12-15) explore exciting international spring break destinations (Australia, Italy and Japan) through food.
- Summer “Simmer” Camps: A ten-week camp for kids and five-week camp for teens explore healthy and fun recipes. Teens will get more in-depth with creating menus and culinary skills while kids will also spend time gardening in the greenhouse, learning about urban gardening, bugs and making picnic foods.
