In our house hold we are all vegetarian and mostly vegan. We will eat eggs that I can find from a trusted source where I know the chickens are well taken care of and live content lives. A common question we get is simply “what do you eat then?”. We eat a a great variety of foods, just no animals. Some people tell me that they tried to be vegetarian before and failed. I would offer that they should try again. Its not that hard to do and most people who convert to a plant based diet find it to be delicious and very beneficial to ones health.
This month, in an effort to help demystify vegan cooking I will be hosting a cooking class at the downtown market with Chef Bryan Nader of Mercy Health. The idea is to make it easy to cook healthy vegan food your family will love. Our menu includes Chicken-less Nuggets, Vegetarian Buffalo Wings and Vegan Mac and Cheese. We will also create a great dessert. If you have ever considered adding some meatless days to your diet come and check this class out. You will get to prepare and enjoy all of these foods before you take them home to try on your family.
