Caledonia teen starts charity to meet local needs

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) There’s a new non-profit organization in West Michigan that aims to get children the sporting gear they need to be active. The unique part of this program is, it was started by a 13-year-old! Jacob goes to Kraft Meadows Middle School and is the creator of Cal Kids. The program takes slightly used sporting equipment and clothes and redistributes them to children in need, with the help of Caledonia area food pantries. Jacob says his goal is to eventually partner with Kids Food Basket and expand the service across West Michigan. You can help by donating. Check out their website and their Facebook page, or schedule a pick-up by calling (616) 536-6006.
