If you’re embarrassed by the powder room or half bath your guests will use this holiday season, a fresh coat of paint and a new vanity can have a big impact. Because this is typically a smaller space, with a bit of pre-planning, it’s a do-able remodeling project for the holidays. This is especially easy with a free-standing vanity. It does not have to “match” other spaces in your home so you can be more creative.
If you’ve always loved a vessel sink but it wasn’t appropriate for the master bath, this is your chance to “think outside the preverbal box”. Get creative with the finish and style and definitely upgrade the faucet too! If you remember to turn off the water while installing your new vanity, you really shouldn’t need a plumber, making this quite an affordable, statement making remodeling project!

If you’re a bit more ambitious, a more permanent vanity, including a tile backsplash could make a great addition to your power room or guest bath. This will require a few more tools and skills, but still a do-able holiday remodeling project. Remove the old vanity and backsplash carefully so you don’t have to do any drywall repair. Measure twice and order once is always a great rule of thumb too!
Get creative with the backsplash, a fresh coat of paint and new faucets and you’ll really impress your guests!
