Cook a romantic Valentine’s Day meal

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Valentine’s Day is coming up quickly and if you’re still struggling to come up with a way to celebrate with your sweetheart, Maranda has an idea for you!

She joined three West Michigan men in the Meijer Innovation Center with Chef Jen to teach them how to make an amazing meal for their loved ones.

Let’s meet our chefs! Chris “Daddy D” DeYoung is a teacher at RockfordHigh School. He has been married for ten years and has a four-year-old daughter and triplet boys. He says his cooking skills are limited to making macaroni and cheese and baby bottles.

Jim DeWindt will celebrate his 20th wedding anniversary with his wife Pam in August. They have a 17-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter. Jim says his best cooking skill is to reheat leftovers.

Tommy from Star 105.7 has been married 21 years and has a 16-year-old, 15-year-old twins, and an 11-year-old. He says he enjoys cooking and grilling and makes about three meals a week.

The men begin preparing the meal with the first course, an amuse-bouche, which is like a one-bite appetizer. Jim makes goat cheese with cranberry and candied kumquats on a cracker.
