GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Opening day at Fifth Third Ballpark is less than two months away, on April 8, 2014, and ballpark officials are already hard at work to make sure it’s an incredible experience.
One of the ways they’re doing that is with some brand new food offerings! Each year, the West Michigan Whitecaps hold a contest on new menu items, and the entries are always creative! Maranda got a chance to check out some of the ideas at Gordon Food Service.
One is “The Big Hitter”. It’s two pounds of sliced beef and giardiniera on two pieces of garlic bread, served with a side of au jus. It’s big enough to feed a family of four. Another entry is a hot dog on a bun, covered in mashed potatoes and gravy.
The Whitecaps plan to add about seven to eight new items to the menu for the 2014 season.
