South Haven 21st Annual Ice Breaker Festival

Check out ice sculptures, a chili cook-off, synchronized ice skating, open skate, s’mores at the campfire, and a children’s film festival! Free.
Muskegon Snowfest 2014
Friday, Jan. 31 – Saturday, Feb. 1
Trivia night, Euchre tournament, snow cornhole, Battle of the Bowls chili cook-off, kids fest, and live music! Free.
Storytelling Festival at Kalamazoo Valley Museum
Saturday, Feb. 1, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Professional storytellers weave their tales on the main stage, along with a vendor fair, crafts, and a special storytelling area for preschoolers. Admission to the museum is free.
Tracks & Trails Winter Hike, Calvin Eco-Preserve
Saturday, Feb. 1, 10:30 a.m. – Noon
Go on a wintry walk through the preserve to discover how animals live in the winter. Hunt for tracks and learn how to identify them, then create your own tracks. Great for families with children ages 4-12. Free.
Michigan Winter Triathlon, Muskegon Winter Sports Complex
Sunday, Feb. 2, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Try three Winter Olympics sports: luge, ice speed skating, and cross country skiing, in a family-friendly competition. The event is meant for beginners and most of the equipment is free. Must have proof of health insurance. $25 for 13 and older, $20 for 12 and younger, $50 family rate.
