It’s a ball all about the kids! The Kent County Medical Society Alliance will host its 24th annual Charity Ball for Children on February 1, 2014. The Alliance expects to raise more than $60,000 to benefit youth programs at The Bridge of Arbor Circle and the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan.
The Bridge of Arbor Circle was created in 1996 to provide shelter and support services to runaway and homeless youth ages 10 to 17. The Bridge serves an average of 300 Kent County youth a year by providing shelter, food, family reunification support, mentoring, stress management, employment, safety and skills for independent living. The money the Alliance raises will provide health and wellness screening for the young people upon intake at The Bridge.
The mission of the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan is to ensure individuals are supported in their journey to a full, healthy life by educating and building awareness throughout our community about suicide prevention and other challenges to good mental health.
The Alliance is a service organization, comprised of physicians and their spouses. The group focuses on health related needs in the community with an emphasis on issues affecting women and children.
Over the past 23 years the Charity Ball has allowed the Alliance to provide more than $1,100,000 to help support more than 26 different charities in the greater Kent County area.
The community is welcome at the Charity Ball. The evening will begin at 6PM, and will include a Silent Auction, Raffle, Dinner followed by Dessert and Dancing. For Corporate Tables, Individual Tickets or Sponsorships please call (616) 458-4157 or send an inquiry to email@example.com.
